The work of three Scottish artists is featured in the Ruthven Gallery's summer exhibition. Portraits. landscapes, oils and watercolours by Cathy Campbell, Hugh Kirkwood and Cara Mckinnon Crawford mix and mingle at this show.

Hugh, who was awarded a patent for his invention of the 'paint-box', follows many great Scottish artists in the tradition of painting directly from life, and Cara's popularity as an artist has been evident ever since her sold out degree show at the Glasgow School of Art in 1984.

Cathy, who graduated from Dundee's Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 1986, describes her subject matter as familiar and mundane. She explains, "It's not really a question of making a portrait of the objects or of telling any kind of story. It's about shapes, colour, darkness and light."
The Summer Exhibition runs from 3rd July to 31st August.
