A photographic exhibition featuring artists from some of the UK's largest cities opened yesterday in Auchterarder. It is being held at the Ruthven Gallery and includes work from Lang Toon-based Jo Cound.

She has exhibited all over Britain, including the Waterlily House at Kew Gardens in London. "I have an innate passion for all things that grow, from the smallest bit of moss to ancient old trees," she said yesterday. "Nature has always been my inspiration in life. In particular I am drawn to the intricate details and colours of flowers. These parts of a bloom are often overlooked. I aim to capture the essence and beauty of my subjects."
Suzanne Hay, gallery owner, added, "We've tried to pull together a really broad spectrum of modern and traditional photography, and are delighted that some artists have chosen this exhibition as the first outing for new work. From Jo Cound's intensely colourful floral imagery to Carol Ann Peacock's mesmerising Alice in Wonderland etchings, there's truly something for all tastes in this show."
Other Perthshire artists who feature in the exhibition include Stewart Prodger of Braco, and Auchterarder's Sandy Weir.
The exhibition will run until February 14.
