EXHIBITION LAUNCH FOR NEW AUCHTERARDER GALLERY
An exhibition of a number of British contemporary artists is to launch Perthshire's newest art gallery this week

The Ruthven Gallery, at 136a, High St, Auchterarder opens in style with a rich array of paintings and sculpture from award-winning artists across the UK. On show will be work from artists including: Hugh Kirkwood; Tony Morrow; Cara Mckinnon Crawford; Ian Elliot; Stewart Lammie; Elaine Jones and Robert Newton.

Gallery owner Suzanne Hay said: "We're keen not just to exhibit Scottish based artists, but attract artists from further afield, and make these accessible to a Scottish audience. Our first summer exhibition has a strong colourist feel, but with cutting edge sculpture providing a very different sensation. We aim to bring a diverse and inspiring range of work to the Ruthven Gallery, so whatever your interest or taste there should be something here which appeals."

Suzanne has recently left a successful 16 year career in technical authoring and illustration to set up the gallery with her partner Mike. Her professional and personal love of all things creative have now resulted in Auchterarder High Street gaining an outstanding gallery, and framing studio. Suzanne commented: "This is a life-long ambition for me, as both Mike and I are passionate about art. We had an opportunity to take over a perfect building at 136a, High St and create a beautiful gallery space here in Auchterarder, and decided to take it. We hope people will enjoy coming in for a browse and sharing the pleasure with us."
